Airsoft Game – Operation: “Desert Rat”

Friday, August 5th, 2011

July 23, 2011 Black Thorn Airsoft hosted Operation: “Desert Rat” in one of the somewhat isolated deserts of northern Utah.

Operation Desert Rat. Hosted by Black Thorn Airsoft

Many games were held that day, a couple of them consisted of capturing territory.  One offensive team and one defensive team. On the offensive side players needed to knock down a series of flags to push the enemy back, as they did so, the enemy’s re-spawn areas became fewer and the offensive team got closer to the win.  On the last push once a single flag stood, the defensive team had a final life left, once they were hit they were out.  Eventually both teams would win this game that were in the offensive positions unless the defense could survive for a period of time, that never happened.  It was a ton of fun, lots of players, lots of action.  During one of these capture the territory games I was on point with my trusty video camera, check it out:

Featured Player – “Friendly”

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

This weeks’s featured player is call sign: “Friendly”. The actions of the “Four Horsemen” (Friendly’s squad) stand out to me because of their straight into battle and organized team efforts.

I stress to every airsoft player above all things, these guys are light hearted and just want to have fun playing this game, because that’s what we are all doing out there in the field is playing a game, some lose sight of that a little and forget to have fun.  However anyone serious about airsoft as a sport and values safety and implementing responsibility will know that having a “hot head” does not help your team or anyone learn and function properly.  keep it cool out there because were all brothers in arms.  just a little “” word of advice. 🙂  “Friendly” is just that, he’s a cool guy, if you need extraction from a dangerous situation and notice one of the Four Horsemen near by, I’m betting they can fly you in some hell fire for the opposition.  With Friendly’s boom stick aka “Bullet Bill” he’s always in the mood for some cover fire.

Airsoft Game – Operation River Runner II

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

Operation River Runner II was held July 9th, 2011 deep in the jungles of northern Utah, Ghost and Old School commanded as normal with most Black Thorn Airsoft games.  One of said games was “Ambush” and consisted of two teams, one defending and one attacking.  The defending team had a few minutes to setup and wait for the onslaught that was soon after to come.  My camera normally takes me where the action takes place and I found plenty of it in this game.  If you look carefully you may even catch a glimpse of the rare K-Factor plant that is known to walk about the jungle taking players down with a pump action 3 round burst shotgun.

Featured Airsoft Player UPDATE – Raven

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

Bethony aka “Raven White” happened to be sporting some new gear at the recent Airsoft game: Operation Point of the Sword game and I thought, being the most popular of all of the AirsoftUtah video series, the need for an update video is well over due, even if it has only been a few weeks 😀 Here’s a little something to make all you gear heads go ga ga for. Don’t let her looks fool you, she’s not to be trifled with out on the field, shooting at a whopping 550 feet per second you better hope that 160 feet is far enough away to avoid being slapped by some .3’s.  Here’s an update from Raven:

Look for Raven in the Operation point of the Sword Video.
