Here is a shortened version of the AAR (After Action Report) from from BTA’s command: “Trooper”. For the full story visit:

The day started a bit cool and quickly warmed up to a sunny warm fall day! Some traffic and car problems hampered the meet-up convoy a bit, but everyone seemed to make it close to on time.

BTA welcomed to our 8th Annual BTA Halloween Zombie-Game… OPERATION: “DOOM” of 2015 at Silver City a.k.a. “The Ruins”

After the briefing and before the first game, We held a raffle… giving away prizes that could be used “in-game”. Wonderful prizes were provided by…
• BTA sponsor Tactical Airsoft Supply (TAS) in SLC & Layton, Utah!
• BTA supporter!
• BTA Command & Team members!
• and… BTA fund raising! (water, dead-rag, and food sales)

BTA zombie games are not scripted. Each wave has a loose scenario with objectives you the players must follow. How you accomplish them is up to your skills and tactics. Interaction, dialog, and allegiances between the different living “teams” is left up to you. Your success or failure dictates how you are rewarded or punished in the following rounds. It could mean the difference between having numbers, ammo, supplies, even how many opponents you will face… or what you lose! BTA zombies are not merely targets… do not expect them to act as such. They are unarmed, walking, “players” with only one goal… wiping out you “living” players!

The survivors left one team to keep it’s camp secure from roaming Zombies, while a “supply run” squad was sent out to scrounge surrounding locations.

The supply run squad gathered all of the supplies before discovering a Scientist holding up in a nearby ruined building. They approached cautiously, and were fired on by BCO Operatives dressed in all black!

The BCO operatives viciously left shot Survivors to be eaten or turned by a few of their pet zombies guarding their perimeter.

However, as it turned out… the Scientist was a BCO captive and managed to escape with sensitive material. He then linked up with the lone remaining Survivor, and they made their way back to the Survivor camp.

Unfortunately, the camp was under heavy attack from Zombies and in the confusion the Scientist was shot by the BCO Operatives who pursued them and discovered the location of the camp!

Before the Scientist was killed he left the survivors with intel about a location that the Survivors could bring the sensitive materials to… where they could possibly use it to stop the virus or at least strike a heavy blow to the nefarious BCO plot! Unfortunately, BCO reinforcements arrived making this task difficult. Ultimately, the Survivors broke free of BCO’s grip… however they were overtaken again before they could reach their objective.

For the first time the Survivors have attracted an all out assault from BCO Operatives, who attacked the Survivor camp in force pursuing them into the surrounding forest. The Survivors fought well until they were forced into a group of zombies and BCO wiped them out.

While BCO normally takes samples of the dead and undead then departs… this time they wiped out all remaining survivors and Zombies?!

What is BCO up to now…? Come out to the fourth annual OPERATION: “DEAD OF NIGHT- 2016” next Summer to find out!!!

After the games we held a COSTUME CONTEST! Giving out fun patches to Best Zombie, Best Slayer, and best Civilian. Followed by another raffle of more zombie/survival themed Fun Prizes!

Watch the BTA web site AWARDS page for details on the prizes and winners… coming soon!

Thanks to my fellow command team, family and team members for arriving early to help set up!

More thanks to the BTA team members who stayed late to help in the field clean-up!

Special thanks to ALL those who donated towards the prizes!

Last… but never least, very… very special thanks to everyone who came out and played with a great attitude and great imagination/costumes for always making this another great BTA event! Hope to see you all again soon!

Walking Dead Zombie Airsoft Game – Operation Doom 2014

Thursday, October 16th, 2014

— I Like presents a Black Thorn Airsoft game.  On October 11th-walk, don’t run-or else, they run!  Operation Doom-2014 a walking dead zombie Airsoft game.

Some did run unfortunately for them that meant that the re animated dead were also able to as well and the outcome was not in the favor of the living.

The thing about slow zombies is that they are quite and they appear where least expected.

Poster art thumbnails that I made for the video:

The Black Cauldron group was also out of the field causing chaos between the living factions.
More on that in the AAR below 😉

Some other guys that were out on the field recorded and edited a video of their own as well, watch–The first video from “Kfactor39″. You may know him from our “Find the Sniper” series. Subscribe to him!:

Here is my favorite frame from Kfactors video:

This next one is from “Red Beard”.

Here’s another one by “The Grinch”

(If you have a video you would like to share from Operation Doom-2014, Contact Green on the “I Like Airsoft Facebook page“.)

Black Thorn Airsoft’s AAR report is as follows from their website. This is the “After Action Report”, It’s everything that happened in the games that day, the link to the source article is here:
AAR – 10-11-2014 Op. “DOOM 2014” @ “The Outpost”

BTA’s 7th Annual Zombie-Game was another success! Most everyone was very outgoing and seemed to enjoy themselves. I continue to receive a lot of positive feedback and even quality ideas to use in future BTA zombie-games!

BTA zombie games are not scripted. Each wave has a loose scenario with objectives the players must follow. How they accomplish them is up to their skills and tactics. Interaction/allegiances between the different living “teams” is left up to them. The success or failure of the players dictates how they are rewarded or punished in the following rounds. I could mean the difference between having numbers, ammo, supplies, even how many opponants they will face… or what they lose! BTA zombies are not merely targets… they are unarmed, walking, “players” with only one goal… wiping out the “living” players!

A Survivor/Military supply plane was reported making an emergency landing. Just prior it was observed that it had jettisoned its cargo, scattering much needed supplies throughout the zombie infested area.

Two more survivor teams (Civilians & Slayers) moved to the crash site to seek out the downed plane for its crew and information about the whereabouts of its dropped cargo. Some ignored the crash site and went directly for supplies.

An alliance between the civilians and military was cut short when the military turned on the civilians shooting them and taking their supplies!

With new supplies in hand the three surviving factions feel out each other’s camp defenses while trying to confiscate their opponent’s supplies! The Military survivors swept the field effectively taking out the opponent camps while remaining on the run from the ever-present zombies!

Starting on opposite ends the Military and Slayer survivor teams must follow a marked path infested with zombies to a preset destination while avoiding a BCO hit-squad!

BCO is once again dispatched to the area to recover the remains of the infected for testing. The remaining zombies pushed the survivors back hard leaving the field clear for BCO to gather their prize! I may have overestimated the strength of the survivors, or underestimated the zombies!?

Between games players were welcome to enjoy the BTA zombie-game shooting gallery! The gallery consisted of some cardboard targets and a life size paper-mache zombie created by BTA founder Ghost! 10 consecutive hits to the plate target (without missing) earned shooters a treat!

After the games we held a modest RAFFLE & COSTUME CONTEST! Prizes were provided by BTA water, dead-rag, and hot-dog sales… as well as charitable donations by members and valuable BTA supporter Green and Shades of!!!

Watch the BTA web site AWARDS page for details on the prizes and winners… coming soon!

Thanks to my fellow command team for arriving early to help set up!

More thanks to the BTA team members who stayed late to help in the field clean-up!

Special thanks to all those who donated towards the prizes!

As always, very special thanks to everyone who played with a great attitude making this another great BTA event!!!

Aerial Airsoft Drone – Operation Doom

Tuesday, July 15th, 2014

— I Like presents, a Black Thorn Airsoft Game, Operation Doom 2013 – Aerial Airsoft Drone.

The footage captured was from a DJI Phantom quad copter and a GoPro Hero3.  Unfortunately, being a year ago, I didn’t have my Zenmuse H3 2D gimbal installed, so it was a challenge editing all this shaky footage as you can tell there may be a smooth shot but the “Jello” is in full effect as well as pretty bad blurring caused by the video stabilization.

Walking Dead Airsofters – Operation Doom

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014

Operation Doom 2013 was a blast, literally, har har.  The basic rules for BTA’s zombie airsoft games consist of the living human type and of course the reanimated walking dead brain and flesh eating zombies. Put em all on a playing field and a lot of screeching, yelping, grunting and groaning, oh yeah and a ton of BB’s are flung everywhere.

Please like our facebook page!

For more on these games you can follow BTA on their facebook page:

And their website is here:

Here’s a little general knowledge I have floating around in my head about Black Thorn Airsoft Zombie games:

Black Thorn Airsoft has come up with (or as far as I know they did)this genius way of taking out zombies, now we all should know that to kill a “real” zombie you have to sever the brain stem or destroy the brain, well to alleviate any of the possible painful head shots, a pie tin is fastened about center mass on the zombie players body.  To take down a zombie player a shot to the plate must be acquired, the zombie player and anyone around them hears a quite audible plink, the zombie player takes a knee and counts to 15 or so. then resumes a slow pace, not any running mind you, towards the humans.  If the humans run, zombie players are allowed to also run. Zombies can also do a lunge or a blood lust sprint towards the humans once they are within 10 feet and not already hit.  If a zombie is hit in the pie plate 4 times they have to reset by walking back 100ft and then they can resume their hunting.

Normally there is an objective like take the scientist doctor person from one area to the extraction point.  That and if they humans can last for 30+mins they win.  There have been a bunch of variations that I can’t remember at the moment, needless to say, the games are fricken rad!

Operation Doom 2012 ZOMBIES!!!

Wednesday, March 6th, 2013

Operation Doom 2012 was headed up by BlackThorn Airsoft.  More info can about playing airsoft in Utah with BlackThorn can be found at  This game day was chocked full with crazy action, I had to make two separate videos to contain all the action.  I could have put it all in one, but who wants to watch such long videos, I sure don’t.  Here is a double doosie post with both videos for your enjoyment.  Please comment, rate and subscribe, Thanks a ton!

Part 2 below; is the most recent installment from the Operation Doom Zombie videos:

Airsoft Featured Zombie – Happy Halloween!

Sunday, October 30th, 2011

It’s that time of year when Zombies make their appearance on the playing field.  With one touch you are infected and turned to their side.  Then, for the living its an all out battle for survival.  “K-Factor” aka “Zombie Guy” was turned into this ghoulish form after being infected from another Zombie.  His extra large hands give him reaching distance for that glancing strike.  Once you’ve been turned, it’s all a flash eating fest.  HAPPY HALLOWEEN from  Airsofters’ always remember, this as a personal note for you, please do not dawn your airsoft guns out in public during Halloween, or really any time, it makes us look bad and could possibly get someone a “suicide by cop”.  It’s just not smart.  Wear all of your tactical gear, but please leave the airsoft guns at home. 😀
